I can do a few things each day and pick up tomorrow where I left off. I like to use a checklist to keep myself on track. This is your home, and you can go at your pace. Don’t overwhelm yourself or feel like you have to finish it all right now. My tip to declutter is is to take it one day at a time. Clean the porch (scrub the floor, scrub the siding if possible, clean the cobwebs, etc…).Clean up the yard (get the kids involved).Sweep the sofa (I’ve never tried this tip, but I’ve heard sprinkling baking soda on before you vacuum it works well).Wipe down the ceiling fans with a damp cloth.Clean out the washing machine (run a load of vinegar).Decluttering (you’re welcome to take my declutter challenge).You may want to do this “deep cleaning” several times a year, but spring is a great time to get started. You can use the house cleaning checklist (below) to guide you through detailed (room-by-room) cleaning. I wanted to create a spring cleaning printable checklist for you and share a few of my favorite cleaning tips. It also helps that our kids actually enjoy spring cleaning, too! They like to have a clutter-free, clean room (that still has a lived-in feeling) as much as I do.
